A group of honourable people has started the big wheel of Rotarian Ideals again after almost 62 years of intermission. It has taken us 3 years of strenuous endeavor to celebrate today the foundation of the newly reestablished RC Karlovac.
     Motivated by thc initiative of our dear friend from Karlovac, Davor Juretic, the member of the RC Zagreb, we have gathered for the first time in the Citadel Dubovac on 10th November, 1993. The first nucleus of RC Karlovac had 6 members and as such became the part of the Table of RC Zagreb. At the beginning of 1996 the number of members increased to 28.
     Those were the days of Karlovac's struggle for freedom against the Serbo-chetniks agression. The Rotarian Ideals of service and aid were just the right thing for this suffering town bordering the enemy territory. Being open to the heavy artillery, it has fought its way to freedom, in blood and destruction, finally in 1995.
     Hundreds of tons of the Rotarian Aid have been constantly coming to Karlovac from all over the Europe: Wales, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy and many others.
     All the time we have acted in favour of our milieu. Together with othcr RC clubs we have provided substantial help for the numerous refugees, children, as well as those wounded in the war, for the Institution for the Retarded Pcople, for the hospitals in Karlovac and many others who needed our help.
     Still our goal is to provide means and ideals for the establishment of the new democratic country; to improve the conditions we are living in, and as a part of a big Rotarian Wheel, we want to serve and support the Ideal of Truth, International Understanding and Respect, Friendship, Tolcrance and the Responsibility in Private, Professional and Public Life.
